Here are some examples of the assignments Q Futures has recently undertaken.
- A group of London universities wanted to assess the market potential for a range of biotech opportunities including a drug for Alzheimers, diagnostics for early stage detection of pre-eclampsia and polycystic ovarian syndrome, technology for protein tagging, test kits for stem cell viability and a bacterial microarrays technology. Q Futures undertook a suite of projects to determine market size, growth potential and future market drivers and also delivered on competitor analysis and scenario planning.
- A software company wanted to increase its sales to the pharmaceutical industry. Q Futures facilitated two workshops, providing an in-depth description of trends in the industry. This enabled the identification of new opportunities as well as some practical ideas for increasing sales in the short term. The company increased its immediate sales and positioned itself for longer term growth.
- A small diagnostics company needed a further round of financing but realised that its business plan did not do justice to the opportunities. Q Futures worked with the management team to identify the core opportunities enabling a more focussed and compelling business plan to be shaped.
- A telecommunications SME wanted to understand the opportunities for its RFID (radio frequency identification) technology in the UK health sector. Q Futures provided extensive market research, analysis of the supply chain, scenario planning and financial modelling. The recommendations made were taken up and successfully implemented.
- A start-up company in spectroscopic diagnostics had initiated a university collaboration to clarify some development issues. Advice was given to the management team to focus its business model resulting in successful procurement of funding for the university project.
